shopping with buddies!

so i did end up going shopping in the city on tuesday. :)

first, me & 3 other friends dropped by martin place to get free manicures (yay!) and i got red - we got a base coat, then 2 coats of the colour of our choice (there were 6 colours, 2 reds, a fuchsia pink, black, grey and neutral, i think) then a top coat. since the event was sponsored (or whatever) by sally hansen, the nail polishes were [obviously] sally hansen. the colour i got was called sonic boom. (epic, right?)

i forgot to say that before our manicures, they offered us a bottle of either diet coke or vitamin water. i got diet coke (gasp!). i hadn't had a soft drink in a while.

while we walked to pitt st westfield (while being careful of our newly done nails), we talked about random things; most likely one friend's obsession with omegle (and a guy she met on there). we went into valleygirl first and i, being semi-broke, bought a necklace that was 5 bucks (on sale; yay), even though i really wanted to buy the entire shop.

we left after about 20 minutes of browsing and then went into diva, sportsgirl and jayjays (not necessarily in that order) and i bought 2 pairs of sunnies from jayjays. i had no idea they gave free cloth cases for them. i got a red one with a sesame street design and a yellow spongebob one. i like sesame street and spongebob. :)

and in sportsgirl, we were looking at the shoes and it was cool. i like shoes. they are, like, my life. just kidding. though, i really do like shoes. and i love shoe shopping...especially with my mum, since, you know, she has the money and all. i put on one of the display shoes. it was blue and polka-dot-ty and pretty. :) luckily they put a size 7 on the shelf. glo has a picture of it somewhere on her camera's memory card.

after browsing outside, we went into the actual westfield and i was dazzled by the classiness of it. definitely too sparkly and posh for me. ;) as we were walking, one friend eventually led us into guess. i was like, "why are we even in here?" it's not like we could afford anything. oh well. we could always browse and window shop and marvel at the stuff (was there really anything to marvel at? i've seen better in cheaper shops).

we then headed into zara which i remember thinking to myself was very "hustle and bustle"-y. glo led the way down into the kids and women's section (the floor below where we entered) and we stood around, looking at the stuff and waiting for catherine to arrive.

by then, we were starting to get hungry and decided to head down to the food court, but got distracted and went to myer instead. we headed up to the very top to get to myer basement (weird, i know) and went around looking at the racks.

we didn't do this very long, because people were getting hungry. so we left cat there and the rest of us went all the way back down to the food court. eventually, we finished eating and cat came back down to meet us.

we turned into zu shoes and wowed at the pretty shoes (not so much annie), while daph commented on the high heeled-ness and cat got excited over a pair of lace-up booties with a slightly chunky heel (they were pretty).

we also went into dotti, which i also like. in here, annie and i argued about the difference between clothing and accessories (which is absolutely ridiculous, because they are totally different). i do not understand her, i really don't. oh yes, and gloriana bought a pair of $20 jeans which look absolutely fabulous on her (she has skinny legs!).

after we left pitt st westfield, we walked around, into cotton on, where i [again] fell in love with clothes. however, none of us bought anything (being slightly broke and wanting to save money) and we then walked into priceline, where annie compromised (i had a deal where i said that we wouldn't go home until she had bought one new article of clothing) and bought a covergirl eyeliner for $13.95! expensive, i know. she promised me she would wear it on the next civi day. if she doesn't she will die. i also found the sally hansen bottle of nail polish that i used - sonic boom, remember? - it's $14. :O lucky the manicure was free.

the last shop we went into was the body shop, where all of us tried out the scented fruit body butter. the strawberry one smells exactly like strawberry-flavoured hubba bubba gum. i had cravings for it after trying out the body butter. the pink grapefruit one smells nice, and so does the mango one. :) i really wanted to buy one BUT it was $28 for a 500mL one. freaking NO. i am not spending 28 bucks on 500mL of body butter, no matter how nice it smells.

we then walked to town hall station and i picked up an mX, which i read on the train, while i sat by myself and listened to music. ha.

i forgot to mention that glo got excited at the sight of sugarfix and that i have an obsession with sunnies and hats. i really want a big, floppy, coral or fuchsia coloured hat. :(

in other news, earlier today, i got my expanders off, and i can now say 'cute' and 'thank you' properly. exciting, i know!

i think that's it for now. (that was pretty long)

laters everybody! xoxo

hugs and kisses for everyone! taylor zimmerman? two for you. glenn coco? FOUR for you, glenn coco! you go, glenn coco...and none for gretchen wieners, bye.

well...

obviously, it's been a while. sorry.

term 3 has finished and it's spring holidays. :)

no more tunics because we're awesome and yeah...my sister is currently downloading doctor who and i am listening to my ipod on random. i constantly think that today is a saturday or monday BUT it's really sunday. silly me.

oh yes. i am also telling everyone (multiple times) about my 19/20 essay on to kill a mockingbird. really, for me, a 19/20 is rare and does wonders for my essay confidence. :DDD usually i get really crappy for essays but WOO! :3

how exciting.

also, if anyone is going to the city on tuesday (between 8am-4pm), drop by martin place; there will be free manicures! i wish i could go. (as someone who likes free stuff, this would be a good thing.)

right now, i am listening to at the beginning - richard marx & donna lewis. this song is beautiful and i will always love it. :') it's on the anastasia soundtrack.

i have been lazing around for the entire day and now i feel like sewing something. i also want to get a subscription to shop til you drop. :((( my mum probably won't let me, even though it's one of my favourite magazines. boohoohoo...

so anyway, i really need to pee.

'til next time folks!

bags, bags and more bags...?

just bought a skirt + a handbag (both in one listing) off ebay.

well, that was actually 2 days ago.

but an hour ago, i purchased another bag, even though my mum banned me from buying any more bags...

and i am currently not working, so i will be broke/in debt to my mum rather soon, i think. i really want to work again, because i'm spending money on magazines and stuff off ebay. and i also need about $60 if i want to sign up for a one year subscription to SHOP till you drop.

i also just cleaned up my table/room recently, organising things...and i have no idea where i put my last [cash] payment from work. ugh. sometimes cleaning can be such an inconvenient pain in the bum.

i mean, i knew exactly where that envelope was before i cleaned my room, but afterwards...it just seems to have disappeared into thin air.

also, i was supposed to bring my french booklet home tonight to do my homework, but i accidentally brought home the wrong booklet because my locker is full of random books + sheets, and my sheets are also stuffed into different books...

gawd donut.

i am so careless; i didn't even check if it was the right booklet.

anyways, i'm wearing my contacts right now, so i'm trying to type up the second part of this post with my eyes closed so that they don't stuff up again. i have made about 7 mistakes, but that's pretty good, considering my typing skills.

i am now tired enough to go to sleep. it's 11:30: an hour earlier than usual. if i keep this up, i can get my sleeping pattern back on track within a few days (sooner than i expected). ← typed that paragraph with my eyes closed. NO MISTAKES. woohoo. :)

toodles my poodles...goodnight. sweet dreams & so long. until next time (probably a week or two).

rolling my eyes way too much

i hate it when i like something and no one cares. and then someone else likes it, it gets insanely popular and then everyone thinks they're so cool for liking it.

i really hate bandwagon'rs and wannabe hipsters.

and also, hipsters are becoming way too un-hipster. too mainstream.

(i would also like to add that i hate our generation + humanity in general)

you know, that's the problem. no one cares when i like it. or maybe they do. then they forget. AND THEN IT BECOMES INSANELY POPULAR.

and i feel like kicking something. because i stopped liking it before/during the time when it got insanely popular. and everyone thinks they're cool because they think they are the only ones who like it.

and i also really loathe bandwagon'rs. and people who say they love something, because they only know a bit about it.

like...i don't know. simple plan. take jet lag for example. they like jet lag and then they "love" the band when they don't even know about the new album and the old ones too.

this has happened way too many times for me.
  • i loved ian somerhalder as adam knight on smallville. and now he's on vampire diaries. i loved him when i was 10 years old. i am now almost 15.
  • typo was this awesome shop that i saw last year. at the beginning of year 8. towards the end of year 8, everyone went through a typo phase and a lot of people have typo pencil cases.
  • factorie, which i shopped at around the same time as typo. now my buddies are starting to like factorie, saying it's awesome and stuff.
  • sam witwer, who was davis bloome on smallville not too long ago is on the US version of being human. and i see teen magazines going "oh he's the new hot guy in town"
  • perhaps this list could include doctor who. yes well, my sister liked it and then i liked it. and then BOOM! a lot of people like it now.
i think the doctor who point can be attributed to the fact that my school is extremely slow. like extremely slow. is this because there's no guys? i don't know.

i also can't talk memes to people because they won't understand. unless it's a very old meme.

and people are going on about tumblr. and how it's so awesome. well, they were. until some people decided to try and become hipsters.

whoops. you're a bit late aren't you? ah, poor thing. you're a bandwagon'r.

being a non-hipster hipster is such hard work. eventually those people will "catch up" but by then, i'll be long gone, into the next phase, probably rapidly approaching the end.

-end rant-

it really has been a while.

hah. it's been so long. :)

well, just an update:
  • wimbledon is making me sad/has made me sad
  • had an awesome dream 2 nights ago & hoping to have another one ;)
  • shopping tomorrow with my besties :')) i love shopping
  • need more batteries for my camera
  • i have spent quite a long time playing donkey kong on wii
  • been playing my sister's nintendo 64
  • i also plan to start doing some sewing/making/fixing of clothes, etc
and yes, i have been playing taylor swift loudly in my room and singing along. how did you guess?

the wind is blowing/whistling past my window. it's making me feel cold.

AND I ALSO NEED TO GET SIMPLE PLAN'S NEW ALBUM. it's not my fault i haven't been shopping. :(

toodles, my dears.

new look.

hey babies.

went to the hairdresser today at cabramatta.

i was surprised that my hair didn't get butchered because i don't trust hairdressers at cab.

it's just below my shoulders & layered too.

...my poor hair.

and i look younger too.

oh yes and i got my eyebrows plucked.

oh the pain.

the new year.

2011...

you will probably be full of broken promises & kept secrets, broken hearts & healed ones too.

you will probably be full of unforgettable moments & memories we'd like to keep hidden.

life is unpredictable but i know this year, you'll make me laugh & cry, smile & frown, just like any other year [ironically].

but it's all part of what life is, anyway.

you're kind of predictable, but it's a general thing.

we don't get the whole picture, so we have to wait and see if this year is going to change us.

it's only when we look back to the beginning that we see what's different from last time we thought about it, really thought about it; it's the kind of nostalgia that comes with the new year cheer.

with those words, welcome to the new year, 2011.

i'll miss 2010, but i do have to say, it wasn't my best year.

hopefully 2011 will prove to be better for me than any other year so far.

best wishes for the new year,

Rachel.
